A tanker truck ignited on Interstate 595 in Broward after a collision with a bus, causing a major closure through most of Sunday, police say.

Around 10:00 a.m., Davie Fire Rescue rushed to a major crash between a gasoline tanker and a public transport bus, which were both engulfed in flames, in the eastbound lanes I-595 and Flamingo Road, authorities said.

With the assistance of Sunrise Fire Department and Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue, the fire was extinguished.

One person was injured and taken to Broward Health Medical Center as a trauma patient.

All lanes of I-595 were opened Sunday night.
