Traffic alert: Crash on Sawgrass Expressway shuts down northbound lanes

A major crash on the Sawgrass Expressway overnight Wednesday has resulted in the shutdown of all northbound lanes near Oakland Park Boulevard in Broward County, according to Florida traffic cameras

The crash happened around 2:50 a.m. near Exit 3 at Sunrise Boulevard, according to Florida’s FL511 traffic cameras and police dispatch reports.

Details of the crash have not been released.

All northbound lanes remain closed. Drivers must exit at Sunrise Boulevard, with no entry permitted until Commercial Boulevard, according to Total Traffic Miami.

Emergency crews remain on the scene, and an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
