Traffic alert: Racing at Hard Rock Stadium may affect your drive. See shutdowns

The action at Miami International Autodrome isn’t a street race, but logistics for the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix weekend’s qualifying and racing will affect streets and highways around Hard Rock Stadium May 1-4.

Here’s what to know about the Miami Gardens event:

Florida’s Turnpike: The northbound and southbound ramps at Florida’s Turnpike Exit 2X ramps will be closed starting 8 a.m. Thursday, May 1. The ramps, connecting the turnpike to Northwest 199th Street, will be shut down through Sunday night, May 4.

Street shutdowns: Northwest 199th Street will be closed from 27th Avenue to Northwest 14th Court from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, May 2, and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 3-4.

Surrounding areas: Through the weekend, expect heavier than usual traffic on the turnpike headed toward Hard Rock Stadium, and on Interstate 95 headed toward the Golden Glades’ spaghetti bowl of exchanges.
