If you think Miami traffic is bad every day, here’s how Trump visit may change your trip
President Donald Trump’s first official visit to South Florida during his second term culminates Monday evening as he hosts a GOP issues conference at his Doral golf resort.
According to the White House, Trump, who has been in Miami since Saturday, is scheduled to deliver remarks at 5 p.m. Monday at the 2025 House Republican Members Conference Dinner.
His motorcade departs at 7 p.m. for nearby Miami International Airport for his flight back to the White House, which should arrive around 9:30 p.m.
What Miami roads are closed?
On Monday, Doral police issued an alert about road closings and expected heavy traffic.
Key intersections near Trump National Doral Miami, 4400 NW 87th Ave., will be closed from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to allow his motorcade clear access out of the resort for his four-mile trip to the airport.
Here’s what will be closed for that hour:
▪ Eastbound and westbound lanes on Northwest 36th Street between Northwest 79th and 87th avenues.
Police presence
“Please plan your commute accordingly and allow extra time to reach your destination,” Doral police said in the alert, without saying what the precise event is. The White House doesn’t release exact route locations of presidential visits for security reasons.
Beyond the Doral road shutdowns, drivers should be prepared for lane closings on any of the roads that lead to the airport, where Air Force One is awaiting the president for his trip back to Washington, D.C.
Those routes include eastbound Northwest 36th Street to Le Jeune Road (Northwest 42nd Avenue), the Airport Expressway (State Road 112) and the Dolphin Expressway (State Road 836).
After touching down at Joint Base Andrews, Trump will be back home at 9:25 p.m., according to the White House.
“We are well-prepared to meet the demands of this event,” Doral police posted on Instagram.
