Lanes reopen after crash closed 18 Mile Stretch on U.S. 1 in Miami-Dade near Florida Keys

Lanes have reopened after a crash involving a motorcyclist closed all lanes of U.S 1 near mile marker 125 in Miami-Dade County on Thursday.

The 18 Mile Stretch was blocked in both directions because of the crash between mile markers 123 and 125, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. Traffic was affected in Monroe County as well.

All lanes have since reopened as of 1 p.m., according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency responders were on the scene near mile marker 124, with Air Rescue North transporting one adult trauma patient to the hospital, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. U.S. 1 was temporarily being used as a landing zone for the rescue helicopter.

Details on the patient’s condition or what led to the crash were not immediately available.
