Roads reopen after crash in Southwest Miami-Dade sends one person to the hospital
An early Wednesday morning crash shut down parts of Krome Avenue in Southwest Miami-Dade and sent one person to the hospital, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Roadways have since reopened.
The call came in at about 6:11 a.m. with reports of a crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car, with one person trapped inside at Krome Avenue and Southwest 122nd Street. Rescue units were able to get one person out and airlift them to the HCA Florida Kendall Hospital trauma center.
Details of what led to the crash were not immediately available.
Lanes in both directions of Krome Avenue were shut down but have since reopened as of 9:45 a.m., according to Florida traffic cameras. There is still heavy traffic in the area.
