A fatal overnight car crash Friday has left one person dead and parts of I-95 shut down, according to authorities.

At about 2:20 a.m. a blue Dodge SUV was traveling north on I-95 around Northwest 119th Street when the driver lost control and slammed into the concrete wall, according to Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Lt. Alex Camacho.

As the Dodge blocked the highway, an oncoming black Honda sedan collided with the Dodge and several occupants standing on the roadway, Camacho said.

One adult woman died on scene and two others were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

Northbound I-95 is currently closed with traffic being diverted onto Northwest 103rd Street.
