Pilot injured after small plane crashes near North Perry Airport in Broward, cops say
A pilot was taken to the hospital after police say a small plane crashed Thursday afternoon near North Perry Airport in Broward County.
Around 2:30 p.m., a single engine Mooney M20E crashed east of North Perry Airport, 101 SW 77th Way in Pembroke Pines, the Federal Aviation Administration said.
The pilot, who was the only person onboard, hasn’t been identified but sustained non-life threatening injuries, Pembroke Pines police said.
“One patient is conscious & breathing,” police added.
The cause of the crash hasn’t been released as the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board investigate.
Lanes along Southwest 72nd Avenue, south of Pines Boulevard, were reopened around 3:30 p.m. after traffic was temporarily diverted.
