An early morning Interstate 95 rollover crash by a box truck in the southbound express lanes had I-95 shut down in Fort Lauderdale even before rush hour began Wednesday.

After the 5:34 a.m. crash near the Sunrise Boulevard exit, main-lane southbound traffic was directed off at Sunrise. Though drivers could get back on I-95 at Sunrise, the backup stretched past Commercial Boulevard by 6:30 a.m. and Cypress Creek Road by 7:05 a.m.

The main lanes opened after 8 a.m., and express lanes opened by 9:10 a.m.
