Major Broward street reopens after being closed by a train hitting a person

The Broward Sheriff’s Office said a train hit a person in Deerfield Beach Sunday morning.

Hillsboro Boulevard and Eller Drive were shut down in both directions for over three hours at North Dixie Highway after a train killed a person on Sunday morning, Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

The train struck the person around 9 a.m. in Deerfield Beach. Streets reopened around 12:30 p.m.
