A Brightline train hit a person in Miami. Traffic on two major streets was affected

A person on the train tracks was struck Monday morning and the investigation had part of Northeast 82nd Street shut down into the afternoon, Miami police said.

By 2 p.m., the street was open again and traffic flowed normally in the area.

A Brightline train hit a man near Northeast 79th Street and Fourth Avenue around 10 a.m., Miami police said. While he was taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious condition, police cautioned drivers to avoid Northeast 82nd Street near Fourth Avenue. The street was closed from Northeast Fourth Court to Second Avenue.

Traffic on Northeast 79th Street between Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue also appeared to be affected.
