A hit-and-run driver killed a motorcycle rider, then hit a Miami animal hospital

A hit-and-run driver struck a motorcycle rider, crashed his car into an animal hospital, then ran away in an early Thursday morning tragedy.

West Flagler was shut down in Miami from 47th Court to 46th Avenue from about 4:30 a.m. to late in rush hour.

Local TV stations’ traffic helicopters showed the locations of the car and the motorcycle: the motorcycle, several yards up Northwest 47th Avenue; and the car, up against Miami Animal Hospital, which sits on the northwest corner of 47th Avenue and Flagler Street.

Miami police are informing the family of the motorcycle rider before releasing his or her name.
