As rush hour started, a causeway into Miami Beach was still blocked by an overnight crash

People heading into South Beach for fun or profit Thursday morning should avoid the MacArthur Causeway until around 8 a.m. A multi-vehicle crash shut down the eastbound side of Interstate 395 at Fountain Street just before 2 a.m. and though it reopened around 7:30 a.m., it’ll take time for the backup to clear.

To get to Miami Beach, use the Julia Tuttle Causeway (Interstate 195), the Venetian Causeway (there will be a toll) or the 79th Street Causeway and snake your way south.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more is learned.
