SR826 ramp near Miami International Airport to close for three months
Starting Friday at 10 p.m., the southbound State Road 826 ramp to West Flagler Street will be closed for approximately three months as part of the renovation of the massive interchange linking 826 with State Road 836 near Miami International Airport (MIA).
Oscar González, the project spokesman, said the closure will allow workers to build a new ramp and a new bridge that will serve as the new exit to Flagler.
For those three months, commuters have to follow a convoluted detour.
On Friday and Saturday, drivers will be detoured to the SW 8th Street east exit.
Starting Sunday, southbound drivers on 826 will need to exit at the eastbound 836 ramp, the second exit after NW 25th Street. Then follow the signs that will take them to a turnaround under 836 and then take the eastbound 836 exit to West Flagler Street.
