Four injured in multi-vehicle crash that shut down a major Miami causeway, police say

Four people were taken to the hospital — two in critical condition — after a head-on collision on a major Miami causeway on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The multi-vehicle crash happened around 2:45 p.m. in the 1200 block of the 79th Street Causeway, Miami police spokesman Orlando Rodriguez told the Miami Herald. Rodriguez said the people injured are adults.

As a result, the causeway, which connects Miami to North Bay Village, was shut down in both directions, Miami police announced on Twitter.

The causeway was fully reopened around 7:15 p.m., Miami police said.
