South Floridians are hitting the streets to celebrate Argentina’s scintillating World Cup victory on Sunday — which means delays and closures in Miami Beach.

Argentina’s historic win over defending champion France — and their first title since 1986 — also marks the pinnacle of superstar Lionel Messi’s legendary career, in what was likely his final World Cup appearance.

In North Beach, northbound Collins Avenue is closed at 72nd Street. The City of Miami Beach warned drivers Sunday evening to expect delays but didn’t mention how long the closure will remain.

All Miami-Dade buses bound for the beach are running at least an hour behind. Buses also aren’t stopping from 41st Street to 96th Street and on Collins Avenue, according to a rider alert.
