A tractor-trailer trying to avoid an out of control car crashed on Interstate 95 north, blocking three of four main lanes and both express lanes, backing up traffic into North Miami-Dade for about two hours Monday.

Lanes opened back up around 12:44 p.m.

FHP Lt. Indiana Miranda said around 10:49 a.m. the 18-wheeler was rolling in a middle main lane just south of Hallandale Beach Boulevard when a Nissan Armada to the truck’s right lost control. The truck driver lost some of his cargo as he tried to avoid smashing the Armada.

The driver of the Armada had injuries termed “non-life threatening” while the truck driver was uninjured.
