A fatal motorcycle accident on busy Southwest 137 Avenue caused traffic jams Friday afternoon near Miami Executive Airport.

Around 1:30 p.m., a motorcyclist crashed into a car, flew off and hit the back of another car in the 13400 block of Southwest 137th Avenue, Miami-Dade police said. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took the motorcyclist to Jackson South Medical Center.

The motorcyclist, whose identity has not been released, died at the hospital, police said.

An investigation is still being conducted in the area so lane closures are still in effect. Commuters reported traffic jams as they tried to get past the crash site.

This is a developing story.
