Three people were injured in a crash involving a Publix tractor trailer and two pickup trucks early Friday in Miami, fire-rescue said.

The crash happened around 6:35 a.m. at the intersection of Northwest 37th Avenue and Seventh Street. Miami police have shut down lanes in the area for the investigation.

When rescue crews arrived, they found two heavily damaged pickup trucks and the Publix 18-wheeler in the middle of the intersection, between a Burger King and Wendy’s. Someone was trapped inside one of the pickup trucks, according to fire rescue.

Rescue crews removed the person and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center. Another person in the pickup truck and the Publix driver were also taken to the hospital.

All three are in serious but stable condition, fire-rescue said.

Police are investigating the crash. Drivers should avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
