A traffic mess near Miami Gardens during morning commute

A crash on northbound Interstate 95 just before State Road 860 and Miami Gardens Drive after 8 a.m. blocked two of the left lanes. Just one regular lane was open.

Express lanes were getting by but it was a mess.

Also, all lanes on 75 Express South, beyond State Road 860 and Northwest 186th Street in Miami Gardens, were blocked during morning rush hour.

The roadways were cleared around 10:30 a.m.

Fatal crash Tuesday

The rush hour jam was not related to a fatal crash Tuesday night on southbound I-95 in the area of Ives Dairy Road.

According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alejandro Camacho, a black Chevy sedan and a white Ford pickup truck collided around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Phillip Poulos, 67, the driver of the Ford pickup, died on the scene, Camacho said.

“The entire southbound side of the roadway was shut down for approximately six hours,” he said.
