A trip to a Publix grocery store led to one woman winning a $1 million lottery prize in Florida.

Jennifer HercherAllen turned a $5 scratch-off ticket into a life-changing win at the Publix Super Market at Tarpon Mall in Tarpon Springs, the Florida Lottery announced June 2.

The Pinellas County woman beat the 1-in-2,963,170 odds to win one of six top prizes of $1 million in The Cash Wheel game, records show.

HercherAllen, 55, headed to Tallahassee to claim her prize as a lump sum of $605,016.40, lottery officials said.

The Publix grocery store was a winner too, receiving $2,000 for selling the lucky ticket, according to the Florida Lottery.

Two top prizes remain in the game, which launched in August 2024.

Tarpon Springs is part of the Tampa Bay area.
