Lottery ticket worth $1 million sold at Publix store in Florida. Here’s where
A trip to a Publix grocery store ended with one woman winning a $1 million lottery prize in Florida.
Patricia Miles turned her $30 scratch-off ticket in the $15,000,000 Gold Rush Multiplier game into a life-changing prize, the Florida Lottery announced May 6.
Miles, of Panama City, bought her ticket at the Publix Super Market at Lynn Haven Center, according to lottery officials.
She missed the game’s $15 million jackpot, but she beat the 1-in-3,650,860 odds to win one of six second-tier prizes of $1 million, records show.
The Bay County woman claimed her winnings in Tallahassee as a lump sum of $597,700, lottery officials said.
The Lynn Haven Publix received a $2,000 bonus for selling the lucky ticket, according to the Florida Lottery.
Two of the four top prizes remain in the game.
Panama City is in the Florida Panhandle.
