A disagreement between a customer and a store worker turned deadly when the employee pulled a gun and started shooting, according to investigators in Florida.

The shooting happened around 6:15 p.m. on Monday, March 31, and the location has been identified by news outlets as a 7-Eleven in the 10,000 block of North Nebraska Avenue in Tampa.

Officers responded to a call about a disturbance. When officers arrived, they located an adult male with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died,” Tampa police said in a news release.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting resulted from a dispute between an employee and a customer. During the altercation, the employee shot the customer.”

Identities of the customer and employee have not been released as of April 1 and investigators have not said what prompted the conversation to turn deadly.

“The employee is cooperating with the investigation,” police said.
