A Lyft ride-share trip turned bizarre when the driver realized her passenger had taken down his pants during the ride, according to investigators in Florida.

It happened Wednesday, March 5, shortly after the man requested a ride home from a Walmart in Lakeland, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

“During the drive, she stopped at a stop sign, and looked back to make sure she was clear to make a turn. What she saw though was her backseat passenger ... with his pants down,” the sheriff’s office said.

He “was doing something back there that she absolutely, positively did not want him to be doing in her car,” the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies were summoned and the 35-year-old man offered what he thought was a sensible explanation, officials said.

“(He) told the deputy that his (man bits) were uncomfortable, so he pulled his pants down and grabbed his (man bits) to make it more comfortable,” the sheriff’s office said.

The deputies arrested the man anyway and gave him a rideshare straight to the Polk County jail.

He was “charged with exposure of sexual organs,” which is a misdemeanor, officials said.

“If this story sounds familiar,” the sheriff’s office said, “it may be because the PCSO arrested a Groveland man in December of 2024 for doing the same thing during his Lyft ride.”

Lakeland is about a 35-mile drive northeast from Tampa.
