Threat to shove a weapon up the neighbor’s rear end gets man jailed, Florida cops say
A community dispute turned terrifying and strange when a man stated his intent to stick a knife up the neighbor’s rear end, according to investigators in Florida.
It happened Friday, Feb. 28, at a home in Palm Coast, and ended with the 67-year-old man learning such threats count as a felony, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said in a March 4 news release.
“According to the victim, their neighbor Roy Johnson ... walked up to a Ring camera on their home and held up a knife, stating, ‘You see this? I’m going to stick this up y’all’s a---s’,” the sheriff’s office said.
“Deputies reviewed the surveillance video and attempted to contact Johnson at his residence, but he did not answer. ... Johnson has a history of harassing his neighbors, with deputies being called to the residence on three occasions within the past year.”
Investigators did not release details of what prompted the most recent dispute.
The suspect was arrested at his home “a few hours later” and charged with making written or electronic threats to kill or commit bodily harm and aggravated stalking, the sheriff’s office said.
Charges of violation of probation and battery were added March 2, jail records show. Bond was set at $15,500.
“Nobody should have to deal with a neighbor who keeps harassing them and makes them feel unsafe in their own home,” Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said in the release.
Palm Coast is about a 60-mile drive south from Jacksonville.
