Lottery player scores $1 million prize at Circle K store in Florida. Here’s where
A lottery player’s stop at a Circle K convenience store in Florida ended in him winning a million dollar prize.
While Raul Llama missed the $25 million jackpot in the game, he still walked away with a second-tier prize of $1 million, the Florida Lottery announced Feb. 26.
The 36-year-old Brevard County man turned a $50 scratch-off ticket into a much bigger amount when he played the 500X The Cash game at the gas station at 4775-1 Fay Boulevard in Port St. John, records show.
Llama traveled from the Atlantic coast up to Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee to claim his winnings, opting for a one-time payout of $640,000, lottery officials said.
He beat the 1-in-274,004 odds of winning one of 160 prizes of $1 million in the game, which has been running for over a year.
The Circle K received $2,000 for selling the lucky ticket, according to lottery officials.
Port St. John is about a 45-mile drive east from Orlando.
