Powerball player wins $1 million prize in Florida. Where was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball ticket sold in Florida won $1 million, but just missed the $88 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers, but not the Powerball, in the drawing Saturday, Feb. 1, the national Powerball site said.
The ticket was sold at a Publix in Spring Hill, about a 50-mile drive north of Tampa, the Florida Lottery said.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $100 million, with a cash value of about $45.3 million, for the next drawing Monday, Feb. 3, the site said.
The winning numbers were 23, 29, 32, 49 and 61, with a Powerball of 8, the lottery said. The Power Play multiplier was 2x.
More than 500,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot was last won Saturday, Jan. 18, when an Oregon player hit the $329 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
