A dog is bursting with “goofy charm” — and he needs a new owner.

“Bo is a lovable, goofy giant who will keep you on your toes — and make sure you never feel lonely,” a Florida animal rescue wrote Oct. 8 on Facebook. “Bo is a chatty companion who loves to have conversations with his humans. He’ll bark and grumble just to get you to chat back or to initiate playtime.”

The Northwest Florida Great Dane Rescue said Bo is waiting for another home after he was adopted more than two years ago. Bo’s adoptive family lived on a farm, where he was comfortable around their animals.

“He came back into rescue a few months ago because the couple ended up selling their farm and moving into a rental home where they could not take Bo or any of their other giant breed dogs or farm animals,” Katie King, vice president of the rescue, told McClatchy News in an email.

Bo is described as a “drooly” 4-year-old Great Dane who weighs about 150 pounds. Rescuers said the “XL” dog will need a yard with a 6-foot fence since he’s often curious about neighbors’ pups.

“Bo does well with older kids, and while he hasn’t been tested with younger children, he would likely do fine with supervision,” the rescue wrote. “Just be cautious — he’s a big boy and can unintentionally bowl over even the strongest adults.”

Bo also is known as a protective, “needy” pup with a laid-back side.

Then there are his “vocal” quirks.

“Bo’s talkative personality ensures you’re always engaged with him,” the rescue wrote. “This big guy is not just a protector and a couch potato — he’s also your personal conversationalist, always ready to share his thoughts in his own unique way!”

As of Oct. 9, Bo was still available for adoption. More details about the animal organization’s adoption process can be found at nwflgdr.com.

The rescue is based in Pensacola, in the Florida Panhandle.
