Powerball player wins $2 million prize in Florida. Where was the lucky ticket sold?
A Powerball ticket sold in Florida won $2 million but just missed the $197 million jackpot, lottery officials say.
The ticket matched five winning numbers and the Power Play but not the Powerball, in the drawing Saturday, Sept. 21, the national Powerball site said.
The winning Florida ticket was purchased at a Circle K convenience store on South Semoran Boulevard in Orlando, the Florida Lottery said in an emailed news release.
Nobody won the grand prize, which rises to an estimated $208 million, with a cash value of $104.6 million, for the next drawing Monday, Sept. 23.
The winning numbers were 17, 19, 21, 37 and 45 with a Powerball of 14, the Florida Lottery said. The Power Play was 2.
A ticket sold in North Carolina also matched five numbers to win $1 million.
More than 620,000 other Powerball tickets sold in the United States also won prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000, the lottery said.
The Powerball jackpot has gone unclaimed since Aug. 19, when a California player won the $44 million grand prize, lottery officials said.
