A Florida Lottery player turned $50 into a life-changing jackpot prize.

Isabelle Turner, 57, won $1 million on a $1,000,000 a Year for Life Spectacular scratch-off game, the Florida Lottery said in a Sept. 13 news release.

Turner bought the lucky ticket at a Publix store on Southwest 75th Street in Gainesville, officials said.

The Tampa resident claimed her prize at lottery headquarters Sept. 13. She chose the lump sum option and took home $640,000, after taxes, the release said.

The lucky winner beat odds of 1 in 185,709 to win the $1 million prize, according to the Florida Lottery website. There’s still a top prize up for grabs in the $1,000,000 a Year for Life Spectacular game.

Gainesville is about a 70-mile drive southwest from Jacksonville.
