Lottery player’s $50 ticket turns into $1 million win in Florida. Where was it sold?
A lottery player turned $50 into a $1 million prize with a ticket purchased at a 7-Eleven in Florida.
Jamarr Lewter bought his winning ticket for the $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular scratch-off game at the convenience store located at 8305 West Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa, the Florida Lottery said in a Sept. 12 news release.
The 39-year-old man missed the top prize but still beat the 1-in-185,709 odds of hitting a second-tier win of $1 million, which he claimed as a one-time sum of $640,000, lottery officials said.
The game features two jackpot prizes, one of which has already been claimed. A Publix in Fort Lauderdale sold the first one, and in November, the winner received a $16 million one-time payout, according to lottery records.
The 7-Eleven will receive a $2,000 commission for selling the ticket, according to the Florida Lottery.
Lewter is from Thonotosassa, which is in Hillsborough County and part of the Tampa Bay area..
