18-year-old drives 100 mph as she leads cops on wrong-way chase, Florida troopers say
An 18-year-old woman is accused of fleeing state troopers at 100 miles per hour and driving the wrong way while she had drugs on her, Florida law enforcement said.
She was booked on charges of fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, driving with a suspended license and felony drug possession, according to a news release from Florida Highway Patrol.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Sept. 11, troopers said they tried to pull over a 2018 Dodge Charger with blacked out headlights in Cape Coral.
But the 18-year-old is accused of driving away from the traffic stop on Veterans Parkway in Lee County and leading troopers on a chase that hit 100 miles per hour.
She drove the wrong day on a public road during the chase before troopers eventually performed a PIT maneuver to bring her to a stop, law enforcement said.
Photos shared by troopers indicate they found drugs and wads of cash in the vehicle.
Cape Coral is about a 10-mile drive southwest from Fort Myers.
