An argument over birthday food ended with a wife hurling Taco Bell at her husband’s face, Florida police said.

The 34-year-old St. Petersburg woman was charged with domestic battery in the Aug. 3 food fight, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by McClatchy News.

Officers were called to the couple’s home around 12:20 a.m. and found the woman’s husband with remnants of a burrito still on his face, St. Petersburg police said. He told police he was not hurt.

The couple, who have been married five years, got in an argument over the wife getting food from McDonald’s and Taco Bell for her husband’s birthday, police said. At some point, she lobbed a soft shell taco at her husband, hitting him in the face, according to the affidavit.

The woman told police her husband threw a bag at her first, which he denied, police said.

She was arrested on a battery charge and later released, records show.

St. Petersburg is about a 20-mile drive southwest from Tampa.
