Chris Pratt pays tribute to stunt double who just died in Florida: ‘Always a gentleman’
Chris Pratt is remembering a former co-worker who was also a friend.
The actor’s longtime stunt double Tony McFarr died at his home outside Orlando, Florida, on Monday, TMZ first reported.
The cause of the death is pending toxicology results, according to the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The 44-year-old star took to his Instagram Stories on Thursday to say he was “devastated” to hear of McFarr’s passing.
The men did several movies together, including “Jurassic World,” “Passengers” and “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
The two not only bore a striking resemblance to one another, they were apparently close, even after the cameras stopped rolling.
“We golfed, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent endless hours on set,” Pratt wrote of the 47-year-old father of one. “I’ll never forget his toughness.”
The homage went on to recall a time on the “Guardians” sequel when McFarr, as Pratt’s intergalactic action hero character Peter Quill, got banged up during a scene and had to have his head stapled.
“He came right back to work ready to go again,” Pratt wrote. “He was an absolute stud ... always a gentleman and professional.”
