During the course of their “verbal argument,” the suspect threw a lollipop at the manager, striking him in his chest, says the police report.
The incident was caught on camera and witnessed by employees, adds the report, which adds the candy “did not cause bodily harm.”
The customer was arrested and charged with simple battery.

At the jail, the suspect was searched and a glass crack pipe with “burn marks” was found in his pocket, so cops tacked on another charged of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $650.
A judge ordered the individual to stay away from the Family Dollar where the arrest was made, and have no contact with the victim, according to Pinellas County court records.
