‘Tampa, here we go!’ Amid her divorce, newly single Sofia Vergara travels to Florida
A few days after her joint bombshell divorce announcement with Joe Manganiello, Sofia Vergara was on the move.
The “Modern Family” star, who recently vacationed in Italy on a girls trip, is back in work mode, in Florida, of all places.
“Tampa, here we go!” the 51-year-old TV star captioned a selfie on a plane Saturday, informing her legions of followers where she was headed promote her beauty brand Toty with the Home Shopping Network.
It was a quick trip to Hillsborough County. Vergara, who tagged the Edition hotel on her socials, was out of there after the weekend, and possibly on her way to her old stomping grounds of Miami to see family. But who knows? She’s a single adult female and can do whatever and go wherever she likes.
The Colombiana, who has a grown son from her first marriage, is definitely unencumbered at the moment. And not wanting more kids was rumored to be one of the reasons the “Magic Mike” stud wanted to pull the plug on their seven year union.
How much is at stake in this split between the two successful actors? The exes reportedly signed an iron clad prenup prior to their Palm Beach wedding in 2014, and Vergara, the breadwinner worth about $180 million give or take, wants the document upheld.
Let’s hope Mangianello, 46, who has a not too shabby $40 million to his name, doesn’t put up a fight, a la what’s going on with some other nasty celeb divorces like the Costners and right here at home, the Hochsteins.
At least one main issue Vergara and Manganiello had left to iron out is settled: That involved their pet.
According to the Daily Mail, Vergara has agreed to let the actor have the dog, a chihuahua-Pomeranian mix.
“Not in a million years would Joe part ways with his dog Bubbles and Sofía is well aware of this,” a source told the UK outlet Tuesday. “Neither one of them is bitter or out for revenge, and Sofía loves Bubbles and wants her to be happy which is precisely why she’s letting Joe have custody.”
Actually, there doesn’t seem to be much love lost between Vergara and the pooch.
“She hates me,” the “America’s Got Talent” judge told Jimmy Fallon in May 2021 virtually. “She was supposed to be for me. She was supposed to be my dog.... She’s mean to me.”
