Harry Potter star Emma Watson was just in Florida on an ‘adventure’. Her fans freaked
Emma Watson was a Florida woman, albeit briefly.
The “Harry Potter” fan favorite who plays Hermione Granger in all of the blockbusters, was spotted in Flagler Beach last week, seemingly on vacation.
Local radio station Surf 97.3 FM posted a picture of the actress on its Facebook page taken by a fan.
“We were told that she was very kind to the waitress and the restaurant as she dined,” said the caption.
So what restaurant, pray tell?
The Daytona Beach News Journal, which is headquartered about 20 miles south of where Watson was spotted, reports that the British native tucked into local mom and pop eatery Friends Cafe on Wednesday for a spot of breakfast.
And the waitress to whom she was so kind? Christelle Grillo, who just so happens to be a huge Harry Potter fan.
Grillo told the Daytona Beach News Journal she couldn’t believe it was Watson, who was sitting on the outdoor terrace, at first.
“She looked so much like her and she sounded so much like her,” said Grillo, “but in my head I’m thinking ‘What would Emma Watson be doing in Flagler Beach?’”
Thrilled, Grillo decided to ask Watson point blank if she was who she thought she was, and the movie star, who ordered Eggs Benedict, confirmed her suspicions, she gleefully reported.
The news that the “Beauty and the Beast” star was chillaxing in this sleepy beach town sent the Internet on fire.
A few of her fan clubs reposted the sighting at Friends Cafe, and also tweeted out a screenshot of Watson’s Instagram story that had her out on the water on a paddleboard.
Watson’s text over screen read “Girl on adventure.”
It’s unclear why Watson was in the Sunshine State, aside from, well, the sunshine. By Sunday, she was back home in England, photographed watching day 14 of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships with her brother, Alex Watson.
We can see why she may have wanted to eat at the adorable spot, whose motto is “Come as strangers, leave as friends.”
