A furball that almost got the shock of its life has found a fur-ever home in Southwest Florida.

Late last month, a kitten in a dangerous predicament was rescued after a passerby noticed him high up a utility pole in San Carlos Park near Fort Myers.

A post from the Lee County Domestic Animal Services office included a few pictures from the Feb. 25 incident.

The agency says that a “great team effort” went on that day, after Animal Control Officer Sue Byler responded to the call about an animal in distress.

On the scene, Byler linked up with deputies from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Power & Light and a local fire crew.

FPL workers cut the power line and attempted to get the kitten to jump in to their personnel basket, but the kitty skirted farther up the pole. It eventually lost its footing and fell into an adjacent home’s fenced-in back yard.

Byler was able to secure the little cat, which they all appropriately agreed should be called Sparky, “a cute name to go with his adventure.”

On Thursday, Sparky, which is in good health despite the ordeal, got adopted.

The newest post from the LCDAS shows a pic of the adorable, striped tabby with Byler, and then another snap looking cozy in the arms of his new dad.
