Watch Santa surfers hit the beach in the Florida cold. Did they freeze their beards off?

The only people hitting the beach in Florida early Christmas Eve are tourists — and a bunch of Santas.

Even in the bitter cold, surfers dressed in Santa costumes carried out the annual tradition in Cocoa Beach, which dipped into the mid-30s Saturday morning.

The Surfing Santas have been hitting the beach since 2009. It evolved into a major charity event attracting hundreds of Santas and spectators to the sands of the Brevard County city.

Saturday’s surfing festivities included a costume contest, Hawaiian dancers and, of course, the Santas hitting the surf on their boards.

The Cocoa Beach event wasn’t the only one in which Santa took a dip. A scuba diver dressed as Santa Claus went deep earlier this week in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary
