A squirrel found a spot on the Space Coast to build an elaborate nest — and was evicted.

A video posted on Saturday from Wild Florida Rescue, based in Melbourne, shows the mama scurrying about the engine of a blue truck, the hood popped open.

She looks at the camera momentarily, surrounded on all sides by metal car parts.

“Well ... sometimes it takes a few tries,” starts the caption, which explains that a rescue worker removed all the rodent’s babies out of a homeowner’s car engine, but “mama was not impressed.“

You can see why the squirrel didn’t want to vacate: Another picture shows the meticulously arranged nest she had constructed amid the steely machinery.

Mom went right back and retrieved one of her babies back to the truck, which was likely still warm from being on. It can take two to three hours for an engine to cool down, according to automobile information website Motorsrun.com.

Eventually, the squirrel figured out the location wasn’t actually ideal and transported her babies, along with her rockin’ nest, into nature. That would be a tree.

Wild Florida Rescue duly praised the “loving” critter’s grit and determination, and also gave a shoutout to the Good Samaritan for not turning on the ignition.

“Thanks to the homeowner for leaving the vehicle turned off for the rest of the day so mama could be sure and feel safe none were left behind.”
