He was wearing just an apron, and then came the chaos at a Little Caesars in Florida

“Pizza, pizza.”

A lengthy, colorfully written Facebook post from the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday begins with the advertising slogan for Little Caesars.

An early morning incident last Saturday at a franchise in Pensacola had a lot of layers, ahem, toppings.

The law enforcement agency says that a suspect on a “felonious mission” was arrested after allegedly burglarizing the fast-food joint dressed only in boxer shorts, tube socks — and an employee apron.

The apron-wearer, identified as Chad Corn, 35, reportedly went to the empty store on Navy Boulevard, found the door “unsecured” and went inside.

“The burglar then decided he had the skills necessary to pull off a daring mid-morning heist,” according to the sheriff’s office.

After grabbing two bottles of water, a brownie, and the apron, the pizza fashionista made his way to exit through the door, which was now locked from the inside, according to the sheriff.

“This is where the poorly planned escapade begins to unravel,” the post says. “That door failed to lock for the employees … but now worked to perfection. He has locked himself inside.”

Corn then plotted his escape.

“He finds, through the darkness of pizzas past, a dimly lit opportunity,” reads the FB post. “He wonders if he can get past the suspended ceiling tiles, he can access the roof and regain his freedom.”

The Milton man then reportedly climbed on top of an oven to pry off the tiles above, but fell down in the process. That’s when the store’s alarm went off.

Soon after, the phone rang, say cops, and Corn answered the call. It’s unclear who was on the other line, but likely the alarm company checking to see if everything was OK, which it wasn’t.

A picture on social media shows the place in complete disarray, with ceiling tiles on the floor, along with dust and debris next to a pizza display.

“At this point, he has been in the store long enough to qualify for ‘employee of the month’ and he is dressed for it,” cracks the release.

The suspect finally crawls through the drive-thru window into the parking lot, where deputies were waiting. Corn was placed under arrest and charged with burglary (exceeding $1,000 in damages), petit theft and “impersonating a Little Caesars employee (not really).”

Corn was booked into the Escambia County Jail on a $30,000 bond and given a court date of Sept. 16.
