‘Seriously cool!’ Watch a plane take off from a Florida highway. Cops follow behind

A Florida road in Clay County turned into a makeshift runway on Thursday.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, a small plane was forced to make a dramatic emergency landing west of Penney Farms.

A video on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page shows a police truck towing the craft, which was fixed at a nearby building, and then sent back on its way in a jiffy.

“He is safe!” wrote Sheriff Michelle Cook of the pilot. “We are adding ‘emergency plane towing’ to the list of services offered by CCSO!”

The plane didn’t take off from an airport, but from where it landed. Another dashcam video shows it ascending, with a police truck tailing right behind.

In the comments section, people expressed their amazement at the wild scene.

“Never a dull moment.”

“That is seriously cool!”

“Well, that’s something ya don’t see every day.”

“Love to see it, Sheriff Michelle Cook. Serving citizens in EVERY way, including impromptu ‘AAA’ style service.”
