An old kids’ game saved a South Florida man a boatload of money and may have landed a cop in hot water.

In recently released video seen this week on Only in Dade, TikTok and various other news sites, you see a dark-haired woman in a bikini playing “Rock, Paper, Scissors” with a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in a police boat with another deputy.

The caption: “We got out of feloney [sic] with rock, paper, scissors.”

The game involves players randomly throwing out their hands, forming one of the three shapes. Who wins? As per the rules, best out of three. Paper covers rock, rock crushes scissors, and scissors cut paper.

Boater Adam Freedman told NBC6 he was pulled over April 6 near Peanut Island in Palm Beach County during a day out on the water with his pals.

Freedman said that the deputy was the one who offered to play the game. If the law enforcement officer lost, then no tickets, amounting to about $500 in total, would be issued. The infractions are unclear.

“In terms of actual felony, no, there was no felony,” said Freedman. “I think this was the one moment the officer was cutting people a break, and he had fun with us and you don’t see that every day.”

Though Freedman and friends did catch a break (his friend in three rounds had the win), the deputy is now reportedly being investigated.

PBCO officials confirmed marine unit deputies were out on the water at that time, but delined to comment on the matter further.
