A bear cub in Naples, Florida, was acting more like a curious cat the other day.

Alarmed residents in the Stonecreek community spotted the little thing with its mama on Monday morning just roaming the streets.

Naples resident Yesenia Valido saw the two animals right outside, by her air-conditioning unit.

In video provided to local station NBC-2, you can see mom and her cub sniffing around her property.

“Only in Naples!” the homeowner giggles off camera, referring to the lifestyle Instagram page that shows off local oddities that happen in the area.

The little one, its ears pricked, then approaches the window and stands on the ledge on its haunches, peering inside.

“Wow,” says the woman. “Oh my god.”

If you spot a bear in your neighborhood, do not approach it nor feed it, says the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Secure garbage so that they don’t smell food and come literally too close to home.

“When people intentionally or inadvertently feed bears, both people and bears lose,” says the agency on its website.

Despite how cute the cub was, it could still hurt you or do major property damage. And mom definitely could.

“Bears are wild animals and must be respected,” the FWC said. “Even though they are typically quiet and shy animals, they have the potential to seriously harm or kill people.”

Attacks on people are extremely rare in Florida, but people have been bitten and scratched by those defending themselves, their babies or food.
