Drivers using Florida’s Turnpike to go south into Broward, Miami-Dade or southern Palm Beach counties needed to find another route after an early morning crash involving several commercial vehicles shut down lanes in Palm Beach County.

All southbound lanes were shut down at mile marker 85 from about 6:10 to 9 a.m., when one lane was opened for the traffic caught between exit 86, Boynton Beach Boulevard, and the long crash site. Meanwhile, southbound traffic was diverted off at Boynton Beach Boulevard.

All lanes were open at 12:38 p.m.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue helped put out the fire. FHP described the injuries as “minor” although one driver was taken to Bethesda West Hospital.
