Have you been shamed for putting on a mask, or not wearing one? Tell us your story

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis went viral Wednesday when he told a group of high school students that masks “don’t do anything” and they should take off theirs.

Before a press conference at the University of South Florida, DeSantis addressed Middleton High School students who were wearing masks behind him.

“You do not have to wear those masks,” he told them. “I mean, please take them off. Honestly, it’s not doing anything and we gotta stop with this COVID theater. So, if you want to wear it, fine, but this is ridiculous.”

Many on social media called out the governor for “bullying” and “admonishing” the students who chose to wear a mask, including Florida’s Agriculture Commissioner and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Nikki Fried.

We want to know if you have been shamed for wearing a mask or not wearing one in places that no longer require it or feel guilty having to put on one while others do not. Tell us about your experience by filling out the submission form below.
