Like freefalling? What about flying from a huge slingshot? This Orlando park has 2 new rides
Slide aside, Disney World.
Two major attractions opened Tuesday off of Orlando’s International Drive, at ICON Park.
Exhibit A: the Orlando SlingShot, which is 300 feet high. The ride launches funseekers 450 feet into the air in “a matter of seconds!” the park’s Instagram post notes.
“It launches you just like a shot out of a cannon,” John Stine, the complex’s director of sales and marketing, told local station My News 13. “It’s just an incredible, exhilarating experience.”
Exhibit B: The 430-foot-tall Orlando Free Fall is billed as “the world’s tallest free-standing drop tower.” Once at the top, riders will fall at speeds up to 75 mph — if that’s your jam. You brake at just about 45 feet off the ground, Stine added. Phew.
If you’re into calmer attractions, the 20-acre Central Florida entertainment destination also features a selfie-friendly observation wheel, an aquarium, Madame Tussauds wax museum and of course, shopping and dining.
