‘That’s crazy’: See bees fly around a bedroom in Florida. They were living in the wall
Elisha Bixler’s adventures don’t seem to be letting up in Florida.
The St. Petersburg bee expert posted a video that went viral back in November. It showed her followers a massive, vertical nest in a bathroom wall that was unearthed after all the tiles were removed.
“What lurks behind your shower,” read the horrifying Instagram caption.
Bixler’s most recent post, “Buzzing in the bedroom,” is no less disturbing. The video starts with a door slowly opening. In the room are bees flying all over the place.
The text on screen says that the insects were living inside the master bedroom wall.
Some fly out the window. A chunk of honeycomb is draped over the sill.
Commenters were taken aback by the sight, with many surprised-faced emojis.
“That’s crazy,” summed up one.
So what is to become of these unwanted visitors?
Bixler takes them home with her to her apiaries and puts them to good use.
“Raising bees is our way of supporting and giving back to Mother Nature,” she writes on her website, HowsYourDayHoney.com. “Oh, and as a bonus, we get rewarded with delicious, local honey.”
Beside the obvious, her site also sells such products as pancake syrup and candles.
