‘Turkey takeover!’ Watch this very special guest waddle around a Florida aquarium

It’s tough to be a turkey this time of year.

But one bird got the royal treatment on Monday.

According to a post from the Florida Aquarium in Tampa, a fine-feathered visitor checked out the property ahead of Thanksgiving to spread some holiday cheer.

In video shared to social media, you can see the big guy waddling about the space, gazing at all the fish swimming by behind glass.

“It’s a Turkey takeover at the Aquarium!” says a Facebook post with the hashtag #TurkeyTrot.

The guest named Turk was a bourbon red turkey, a domestic breed known for its colorful plumage and originally from Bourbon County, Kentucky.

The sizable bird is bred for meat production, but this regal creature, as an “animal ambassador” and “beloved pet” of an aquarium employee, is safe.

“As a part of its world-class animal care, The Florida Aquarium regularly provides enrichment to its animal ambassadors,” said the aquarium, adding that other wildlife such as pelicans and whistling ducks.
