Businesses, beware.

One Florida law enforcement agency sent out an advisory as people start flooding stores for the holidays. A Facebook post from the Port St. Joe Police Department on the Emerald Coast shows pictures of a counterfeit $20 bill.

The caption reads: “Fake bills are circulating in the area.”

The note is the same green color as actual currency, with Andrew Jackson’s face on the front and the White House on the back.

But look closely on both sides, and you can see the words in capital letters: “Movie Prop Use Only.”

The resemblance is uncanny.

“Wow I would have never knew this was fake,” wrote one commenter under the post.

Another social media user, a cashier, said this happens from time to time and faux money can slip through when lines are backed up.

“I have seen a customer attempt it once and it was someone I know and they had had it given to them from someone when they weren’t paying attention,” the poster wrote.

The police department did not specify at which store the bogus money was used or when. If the person who used this prop is found, he or she could be charged with forgery, a third-degree felony.
